The Irish Poker Open is the longest running No Limit Texas Hold'em poker tournament in Europe and second longest in the world after the World Series of Poker, Las Vegas.

The buy-in is set at €3,200 + €300, with a Super Satellite scheduled for April 1st. The festival will return to The Burlington Hotel in the heart of Dublin city, where the 2007 Irish Open was hosted.
The Irish Open 2010 will feature a €100,000 Sole Survivor promotion for the 2nd year running. Similar to 2009, all paddypowerpoker.com qualifiers to the Irish Open 2010 will be eligible for participation in the €100,000 Sole Survivor promotion and the player that becomes the 'Sole Survivor' by outlasting all other paddypowerpoker.com qualifiers in the tournament will win a €100,000 package. The Irish Open 2009 €100,000 Sole Survivor was Marcel Koch, a 31 year old German player.

Irish Open has become one of the most anticipated and entertaining tournaments of the European schedule, and the top poker room have announced details on the 2009 main event.
The Irish Open 2009, Europe's longest-running tournament, will take place on the 9th to 13th April, 2009. The buy-in has been set at €3,200 + €300, with a Super Satellite scheduled for April 9th.
To celebrate this news, Paddy Power Poker qualifier will also win a €100,000 prize package. €75,000 of which is cold hard cash and €25,000 will be used for sponsorship in future events of the player's choice.

Padraig Parkinson is amongst the most popular players on the international poker circuit and is one of the great characters of Irish poker creating a huge presence at any table he plays at.

"The Don" has been one of Ireland’s most successful poker players for over two decades and is a respected tournament and cash game player the world over.
He won a WSOP bracelet in 1998 for Pot Limit Omaha and was the Poker Million champion in 2004.
He made the WSOP Main Event final table in 1983 and came close again this year with a good cash finish. O’Dea has over $1 million in tournament winnings and has played in the Irish Open nearly every year since it began.
