David Vamplew wins EPT London eventA grueling five days at the Pokerstars.com EPT London Main Event when all was said and done it was young maths graduate David Vamplew was the surprising winner after coming through a roller coaster Heads-up session beating four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and Team PokerStars Pro John Juanda.

Vamplew, 23, whose previous best live event cash was just $6,000 in one of this summers WSOP side events. This £900,000 first place win elavates Vamplew to the top earning Scottish player. This EPT event was the UK's biggest-ever live poker tournament with a total of 848 players competed, for a total prize pool of £4,112,800.

He said: “It’s going to take a while to sink in. I had to get lucky to win. I won a few all-ins but I’m pretty proud of the way I played. I’m pleased with myself for sure.“

In addition to the first prize Vamplew wins a seat into the EPT Grand Final next Spring. He will also be competing in the televised Pokerstars.com UK & Ireland Poker Tour Champion of Champions tournament. The event involves all eight UKIPT Season 1 champions and will be held at the Hilton Metropole. The winner of this receives a seat into all of next season’s UKIPT events as well as next year’s EPT London Main Event.

The EPT London final table is set with Kyle Bowker the chip leader

PokerStars European Poker Tour London (EPT) brought to you by Pokerstars.comAnother record breaking tournament from PokerStars, Following days after the WCOOP 2010 seen over $63 Million in prize money. A total of 848 players in the PokerStars European Poker Tour London Main Event has been whittled down to just eight players; leading the chip counts are a double WCOOP winner and none other than WSOPE 2008 winner John Juanda.

Kyle "kwob20" Bowker holds the chip lead over Juanda by the slimmest of margins, his 7.165m good enough to top the Full Tilt Pro 's 7.075m. Bowker was the first ever player to win double WCOOP titles online and was also the first to break 1 million chips at the 2006 WSOP Main Event.

Juanda chipped up steadily throughout the day. Also in the hunt at the final table, albeit on the shorter stack of 1.48m, is Tom “kingsofcards” Marchese – the online cash game pro plays up at the nose bleed levels of $500/$1,000 game on Full Tilt so he certainly has the poker capabilities to ride his shorter stack all the way to the £900,000 first prize.

Liv Boeree becomes a Team PokerStars ProIn an annoucement yesterday it has been confirmed by Pokerstars.com that Liv Boeree is the latest member the Team PokerStars Pros. Liv, 26 a former model and actress was previously sponsored by UltimateBet.com and will be making here first live Team Pro appearance at this week PokerStars sponsored European Poker Tour (EPT) in London. It is estimated the winner will take home almost £1,000,000.

Tom 'durrrr' Dwan expressed his plans to win the upcoming WSOPE Main Event during an interview following his exit from the $7,000 PartPoker World Open in London.

Tom Dwan plans to win the upcoming WSOPE Main EventTom 'durrrr' Dwan has revealed he plans to win the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event to be held in London at the The Casino at the Empire between September 23rd and September 28th.

He was also quizzed regarding the current status of the new "Durrrr Challenge" with Daniel "jungleman12" Cates. Dwan commented that they have not taken a break however Dwan has been travelling to Europe for the upcoming Full Tilt Poker sponsored Million Dollar Cash Game which is also taking place in London.

Dwan is unavailable for the next three days and he knows Cates is on his way to London for the World Series of Poker Europe, where both players will be playing a lot of live poker so playing online will be taking a back seat for now.

Dwan asked Tatjana Pasalic when the WSOPE finished and when she replied "29th September" Dwan said he was "planning on winning that one," that he was saving "winning his bracelet bet until the very last event," and that he would be free to play after the Main Event had finished.

As reporting during the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas it was common knowledge Dwan had several large 'prop' bets with a number of high-stakes pros that centre around him winning a WSOP or WSOPE bracklet in 2010.

He came ever so close going into the Final Table of Event #11 of the WSOP, Tom 'durrrr' Dwan was in good shape to take his first WSOP Gold Bracklet and what is rumoured to be his biggest payday in sidebets for a win.

Full Tilt signs Million Dollar Cash Game deal for another 3 yearsIlari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and Tom "durrrr" Dwan are both currently filming the fifth season of the Full Tilt Million Dollar Cash Game in London.
