Top Poker Pros are breathing easy thanks to Simon Watt at the WSOP

by Admin 8. June 2010 08:45

Going into the Final Table of Event #11 of the WSOP, Tom 'durrrr' Dwan was in good shape to take his first WSOP Gold Bracklet and what is rumoured to be his biggest payday in sidebets for a win.

Simon Watt was the winner of the third $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em championship at this year's World Series of Poker. The 27-year-old software developer from Auckland, New Zealand. With his thrilling victory, Watt becames the first New Zealander in history to win a WSOP title.

This is Watt's second big tournament win having previously won the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) championship in his hometown of Auckland in 2009. Watt collects $614,248 in prize money and the Gold Bracklet which is pretty good for three days of playing poker.

Tom Dwan is one of the world’s top poker pros -- in both online and live action. He frequently plays for what has been described as "nosebleed" stakes at Full Tilt Poker. Dwan regular has huge million dollar swings on multiple occasions in online matches and big cash games. I am sure he is happy with his $381,885 pay day.
