Bord staged one of the most dramtic comebacks of the year in tournament poker. He was short stacked at the start of final table play, and continued until play became three-handed. Even when play became heads up, Bord found himself at a disadavantage, being down almost 3 to 1 when the heads up commenced.

This didn't make a difference and Bord collected £830,401 for first place, equal to about $1,316,550 (USD). He was also presented with his first WSOP gold bracelet.

The final table top nine finishers were as follows:

by Admin 23. June 2010 09:58

In Day 2 of Event #39 the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout, it was similar to 14 final tables, only all were winner-take-all in this Shootout format.

After 12 hours of, all 14 of the ten-handed tables had played down to a single winner, each of whom now has a chance at a WSOP bracelet.

Derric Haynie was the first one through to tomorrow's final. He was followed to the next round by Steven Kelly, Jeffrey King, Michael Cooper, Heinz Kamutzki, and Paul Varano.

J.C. Tran with two WSOP bracelets already was the next one through, followed by Johnny Kitchens, Dustin Dirksen, and Justin Scott.

We crossed midnight, and four tables continued play, with all four down to heads up. Annette Obrestad and Fatima Moreira de Melo began their heads-up battle nearly even, but Obrestad eventually chipped up and eliminated the field hockey star.

Michael Pesek, Brett Shaffer, and Reagan Leman were the last to win their spots in the final. All 14 are guaranteed $6,940 for making it to Round 2, but the big money awaits those making it to the top spots tomorrow. Play will begin tomorrow as a 14-person multi-table tournament (two seven-handed tables), with each player starting with 450,000 chips.

Action continues tomorrow with another small field of opponents we wait to see who will take the $381,922 first prize and coveted WSOP bracelet.
