At the tender age of 20, Us player Adam Junglen, is certainly on the very short list of poker's youngest and brightest future stars
He recently made it to an EPT final table in Barcelona, Spain. Junglen has already amassed over $300,000 in tournament earnings during his short career and has won much more in cash games. has thus far been unable to compete in the US but has enjoyed considerable success in Eurpe and Canada. Junglen has already played in the WSOPE, finishing outside the money but making a real impression.
Adam Junglen has already won the PokerStars Sunday Million, taking down a first prize of $198,000 in July 2007. Less than a month before that, he had placed 3rd on Full Tilt's $1k Monday for another $33k. He also made another final table appearance in the Sunday Million, finishing 6th.
Obviously a large part of AJunglen7's tournament winnings on PokerStars have come from his win in the Million, although total winnings for the last 12 months on that site amount to nearly $350,000, of which $265k is pure profit. Add another $75,000 made on Fullt Tilt, $45k of which is profit, and you can see that young Junglen is a player to be reckoned with. He has one of the highest ROIs (return on investment) in the online game.
When seated on a table next to Daniel Negreanu, Adam came in for some joshing from the Kid Poker who had obviously heard about the internet ‘phenom’.
“A thousand bucks ain’t what it used to be, is it?” he asked Adam. “These net kids don’t get outta bed for that, do they?”
Adam, surprised that the poker star knew who he was, confirmed that $1,000 was indeed a paltry sum of money.
Later when the action was folded around to Negreanu on the button he limped into the pot, then looked at Adam, and said: “Oh, I guess I’m gonna get a telling off now. Limping into a pot on the button is so negative EV isn’t it? There will be forum posts about this!”
But if he failed to cash in London that wasn’t the case in Barcelona where in the EPT event in August ’07 he picked $268,622 for finishing 6th. It was the first of what will likely be many final table appearances.
