Online Poker tournament The European Championship of Online Poker III came to an exciting close today with Paddy Power Poker player Eoghan 'Intruder123' O'Dea triumphing over a field of 1,283 to earn a $315,000 payday and the title of ECOOP III Main Event champion.
The $1,060 buy-in tournament ran for a little over 15 hours, with the top 150 players earning a share of the $1,500,000 in the prizepool. O'Dea also gets a jewel-encrusted 18 carat gold bracelet, which was designed exclusively for the Main Event winner.
"We would like to congratulate Eoghan on his fantastic victory in the ECOOP III Main Event and wish him luck in the Poker Million later this week," said Eric Booth, Head of Poker at paddypowerpoker.com.
"Our online poker players did themselves proud over the two weeks of the ECOOP festival, with numerous final table appearances, all highlighted by Eoghan capturing the biggest prize on offer!," Booth continued.
O'Dea will have the opportunity to overshadow his victory, the biggest in his career to date, when he moves under the studio lights later in the week to contest the semi-finals of the live Poker Million tournament in London, England.
There he will join Ciaran 'Big C' O'Leary and 14 other of the world's top players vying for a $1,000,000 first prize.
