The $2,700 Main Event of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Philippines from the Dusit Thani Hotel in Manila came to a dramatic end on Sunday evening. A total of 262 players from an impressive 40 countries around the world descended to this vibrent Asian city and, when all was said and done, a local pro Neil Arce took home the 1st prize and $185,000 for the win.
What a dramatic end to a very exciting tournament! Arce opens up with 100k, followed by Steve Yeah raising to 300k. Arce announces he's all-in and Steve calls!
When the cards are flipped Neil shows [Ks], [Qs] while Steve had [Ad] [Kc]. The flop is ([4s] [6c] [7h]) no improvement for either of them, until the turn came [Qh], which resulted in a wild celebration for Arce and the mostly partisan Filipino crowd. Yeah and his supporters, were pleading for an ace to drop but when the river came in [6h], Arce erupted in celebration!
Neil Arce wins $185,000 with a pair Queen and is crowned the new Asian Poker Tour Champion!
